Understanding and Treating NSAIDs Toxicities
GI upset, GI ulceration, and acute renal injury are classic signs of acute NSAID toxicity – but did you know all NSAIDs are not created equal?
While some of the most common NSAID exposures in dogs, ibuprofen and carprofen, do cause gastrointestinal and renal injury, they can also cause additional signs at high doses. Other NSAIDs rarely cause renal injury, but commonly cause neurologic and changes in blood work not commonly seen with other NSAIDs.
