Veterinary Program Administrator
Description
The Administrator sets the vision for the delivery of veterinary services within the organization and to the community. In keeping with our mission, this position will focus on animal welfare industry best practices within the shelter clinic as well as our high-volume public/spay neuter clinic. The goal of our medical programs is to reduce a shelter pets’ length of stay within the shelter and provide pet owners with a truly affordable community medicine approach offering to prevent owners from surrendering pets and promoting healthier animals throughout the region. The Administrator, in collaboration with the Medical Director, has the primary responsibility of directing all shelter medical and veterinary programs and services of YWAC. The Administrator is the immediate supervisor of YWAC’s DVM staff, the Shelter Clinic, and the Spay/Neuter Solutions departments. Under the direction of the CEO, assists in developing and implementing plans and goals for the organization, assists in budgeting and monitoring expenses, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and more. The Administrator functions as a pillar of professionalism and leads by example, constantly demonstrating and encouraging a positive and productive working environment and teamwork. Together with the CEO, the Administrator creates and innovates best practices, leads, and collaborates on strategic goals as they are identified, and supports future growth of the organization's medical operations. Responsible for assuring high-level customer service both internally and externally, compliance with policies and procedures, budget preparation and adherence. Assesses operational effectiveness and implements standard operating procedures as directed to ensure consistency in operations.
